Module 1 - Carbon Fundamentals [Mandatory]

This introductory module builds a foundation in carbon management, covering key concepts, carbon markets, and the evolving landscape of regulation, compliance, risk, and governance. It equips participants with the essential knowledge needed to navigate carbon-related challenges and opportunities, while setting the stage for the rest of the programme.

Module 2 - Module 2: GHG Footprinting and Scope 1-3 Emissions

This module covers how carbon emissions are measured and managed in practice across the value chain. Topics include Scope 1, 2, and 3 boundaries, identification of key emission hotspots in cocoa supply chains, including land-use change, farming, processing, and transport, as well as practical approaches to GHG calculation aligned with recognised standards. Participants will also gain insight into traceability, data collection systems, and the generation of reliable emissions data to support effective carbon management and strategy development.

Module 3: Carbon Trading & Commodity Contracts

This module explains how carbon markets operate and how they intersect with commercial activities. Participants will understand key trading instruments and market mechanics in both compliance and voluntary markets, learn how carbon pricing and risks affect contractual terms, and explore practical approaches to carbon strategy and project implementation.
