The SCPD Programme offers logistics and commodity professionals a flexible, SkillsFuture-eligible pathway to upskill. Through two certificate levels—Professional and Advanced—participants gain practical expertise in resource, transport, and supply-chain management. Delivered online with optional in-person workshops, the programme blends global best practices with regional industry insights in collaboration with the Cocoa Association of Asia.

Building Resilience in the Cocoa Supply Chains and Governing Risks

This two-day workshop is designed to equip cocoa industry professionals with a deep understanding of the end-to-end cocoa supply chain, focusing on risk identification, mitigation strategies, and resilience-building measures. Participants will gain insights into international trade obligations, transfer of risks, quality management, regulatory requirements and effective claims management processes, with contextual grounding in the Hague-Visby Rules.

Introduction to Cocoa Trading

The 3-day foundational course helps participants develop competencies, skills and knowledge needed for a career in the cocoa industry, particularly for new entrants. Upon completion of the programme, participants will be able to appreciate the history of cocoa, gain an understanding of the impact of sustainability on the livelihood of farmers and the environment, the importance of supply chain on cocoa quality, learn how cocoa is traded and the use of futures as a hedging tool. Once participants learn about trading, you must now understand the rules of the FCC contracts used to buy/sell/trade in the London market/exchange for beans and products. Day 3 of the programme will help participants understand what arbitration is and how to avoid it when fulfilling the contract. Get insights on Arbitration matters and the appeal procedure from an FCC Arbitrator.

Data analytics have been touted as the most important technology organizations need to bring them to their next frontier and how data analytics can help organisations make better decisions, understand customers better, predict outcomes, optimise resources etc. The proposed training is designed for managers covering several topics in the Data Analytics area. The training will be conducted by a senior faculty member from the School of Information Systems, Dr. Michelle Cheong, Professor of Information Systems, Associate Dean, SIS Post-Graduate Professional Education and Director, Doctor of Engineering at the Singapore Management University.
